Multi-Strand Leather Necklace

Wrapping Leather – Hammer Texture – Crimp Beads

Look fabulous from both the front and the back in this great multi-strand leather necklace featuring a button toggle clasp!  This is a great example of the integration of leather with metal work.  In the front, you view a cluster of leather strands adorned with the random large hole bead, and the back showcases the fabulous hand-made clasp. You can work in either silver or copper as you learn how to utilize crimp bead covers as a stabilizing mechanism with leather cord; how to wire-wrap multiple leather strands; and how to how to hammer texture and cup a metal button.  I will also share the necessary proportions for using a “button” as a toggle clasp and also my tricks on getting it to lay nicely.
