Graduated Queen’s Chain
(registration instructions below)
Create a long chain necklace with lots of interest! You will learn how the traditional Queen’s chain maille pattern can be modified with varying ring sizes to achieve a wedge pattern. It looks very complex, yet the assembly is fairly easy. You will not finish in class, but you will be confident with the pattern in the time alloted.
Discipline: Chain-maille
The use of jump rings in decorative patterns derived from ancient practices.
Level: Intermediate (**)
The challenge with this project is keeping your various size rings sorted and using them in the proper order.

Desert Jewel Studio, 26839 N 44th St, Cave Creek, AZ 85331. You will receive directions upon registering for class.

How do I sign up?
Class will be $50/person. E-mail jen@jewelryclasseswithjen.com or call Jen at (480)635-2402 to register any time from noon to 10pm.
What will I need to bring to class?
Project Materials:
Kit (available for sale in class – Sterling kit is $135; Bronze kit is $60 to make a 27″ necklace)
The repeat is 2.25″ and each 2.25″ segment requires the following:
- (2) 16ga 8/32″ID jump rings
- (8) 18ga 7/32″ID jump rings
- (8) 18ga 6/32″ID jump rings
- (24) 20ga 5/32″ID jump rings
Tools: (inquire about renting tools if you are not equipped)
- Chain-nose jewelry pliers
- Flat-nose jewelry pliers
- Bead mat or hand towel to manage your rings
- Magnifying glasses – most people don’t think they need them until they are faced with seeing the detail of jewelry close-up.
- Covered water or other refreshing beverage
- Snacks are always welcome as well. 🙂
